More about Reflexology
Reflexology is a safe and natural Complementary therapy said to have originated in China over 5000 years ago. It was also practiced in Ancient Egypt with tomb pictures showing two men manipulating the feet and hands of others.
Reflexology is based on the principal that the feet, hands and face represent the map of the body’s organs, glands and tissues. By stimulating these points, or reflexes, the practitioner is able to stimulate the corresponding organs, glands or tissues within the entire body.
Researchers say that "in today’s busy world 70% of health disorders can be related to stress and nervous tension causing the body to struggle to maintain its healthy balance".
This is how imbalances within the body can occur. If these imbalances are not resolved it can result in ill health. However, the stimulation from reflexology can free up tension of these imbalances within the body. Reflexology practitioners are trained to locate imbalances on the feet, stimulating the body to correct itself and restore the flow of energy to its natural balanced state and good health.
Reflexology is suitable for all ages and may bring relief from a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. After having completed a course of reflexology treatments for a specific condition, many people find it beneficial to continue with regular treatments in order to maintain health and well-being. Reflexologists do not claim to cure, diagnose or prescribe.
Julie also provides Facial Reflexology that works on the same principles as other forms of reflexology with the added effect of nourishing the skin, relaxing facial muscles and improving skin tone. This blissful treatment combines Neal’s Yard Remedies organic and natural facial oils.
Julie trained in Advanced Facial Reflexology and Zone Face Lift with Ziggie Bergman. Zone Face Lift is a gentle, non invasive approach that combines Facial Reflexology and effective traditional face lift massage techniques. Specialist smoothing facial tools are also combined to aid lymphatic drainage and increase blood flow to help tighten, smooth skin around face and neck and relax over-tight muscles. Facial and foot reflexology can be combined in one treatment.
